She’s done it again! Pop queen Ariana Grande has claimed her fourth UK number one with her latest single ‘7 Rings’.
The unstoppable songstress has debuted at the top with the trap-pop inspired offering, notching up a combined sales figure of 126,000. According to OfficialCharts, this figure includes 16.9 million streams, with Ari setting a new UK chart record for the most song streams in a week.
‘7 Rings’ is also the first single in a year and a half to rack up over 100,000 combines sales in a week. The last song to do so was ‘Bridge Over Troubled Water’ by Artists For Grenfell, which achieved 170,000 sales in June 2017.
Ariana now has four UK number one singles to her name: ‘Problem’ featuring Iggy Azalea, ‘Bang Bang’ with Jessie J and Nicki Minaj, ‘thank u, next’, and ‘7 Rings’.
‘7 Rings’ is taken from Ariana’s forthcoming album fifth studio album thank u, next. The album is due for release on February 8 and comes just six months after her previous album Sweetener.
Earlier this week, Ariana unveiled the cover artwork and tracklisting for thank u, next. The album will include tracks such as ‘NASA’, ‘needy’, ‘ghostin’, and ‘break up with your girlfriend, i’m bored’.
In a few months’ time, Ariana will be kicking off her Sweetener World tour, in support of both the Sweetener and thank u, next albums. The tour currently spans from March to October, with the songstress stopping in various North American and European cities. She will also be headlining Coachella in April.
