Fresh from wowing us with her massive comeback single ‘No Tears Left To Cry’ which is a pure pop anthem with touching lyrics that pay homage to the 22 innocent lives that were cruelly lost in the heinous attack at Grande’s concert on May 22nd, last year at the Manchester Arena. Ariana has confirmed that next track to be lifted off her upcoming album ‘Sweetener’ will be ‘The Light Is Coming’.
Speaking about the new record to US chat show host Jimmy Fallon earlier this month, the 24-year-old said: “It’s kind of about bringing light to a situation or to someone’s life or somebody else brings life to your life. Sweetening the situation.”
And so far ten track titles have been revealed from the tracklist:
“No Tears Left to Cry”
“Blame” feat. Pharrell
“God is a Woman”
“The Light Is Coming”
the LP’s opening song ‘Raindrops’ is a cover of a portion of the 1964 song ‘An Angel Cried’ by The Four Seasons. Speaking about the track’s significance, Grande explained to Fallon: “It’s a really crazy story, actually. … I went to go check to see who wrote it. It turns out, my grandfather’s best friend, who I grew up hanging out with in Boca, Charlie Calello, wrote it with Bob Gaudio from The Four Seasons. That just really gave me goosebumps.”
During her interview with Jimmy Fallon, the singer also said that fans can expect something on the 20th of each month in the lead up to ‘Sweetener’s release which is due in the Summer. And on May 20th she will be performing at the Billboard Awards.
And after several days of social media teasing, Ariana Grande has now officially confirmed that the next song fans will hear off the new record will be ‘The Light Is Coming’. Grande announced the news when answering a question on Twitter;
