In less than two weeks, Ariana Grande’s music video for “7 Rings” has reached 100 million views. The single is part of Grande’s upcoming album, “thank u next,” which is expected to have twelve songs in total.
At the time of its release, the video for “7 Rings” achieved 23.6 million views in its first 24 hours, making it the biggest YouTube debut of 2019 thus far.
The song is also currently at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, making it Grande’s second No. 1 single within a three-month time span. Her previous No. 1 for “thank u, next” also achieved an impressive number of YouTube views. Within its first 24 hours, the video surpassed 55 million views, breaking the record held by BTS for their “Idol” music video, which accumulated 45 million views in its first day.
The “thank u, next” video also teased the sound of “7 Rings.” If you listen closely to its introduction, the beat of “7 Rings” can be heard in the background. Ariana has been known to drop hints of her upcoming singles both in her music videos and on social media. The thought the singer puts into all her music videos could be why so many fans love them!
