Kristian was born in Moscow and is of Bulgarian and Kazakh descent. He competed in the first season of The Voice Kids (Russia) where he was mentored by Dima Bilan. Kristian made it through to the finals of the competition. He then auditioned for the fourth season of The X Factor Bulgaria and became the runner-up to winner Christiana Louizu.
Kristian is signed to Virginia Records and his debut single ‘Ne si za men’ was released in October 2016 and peaked at number thirteen in the Bulgarian charts. As well as this, he featured on Pavell & Venci Venc’s single ‘Vdigam Level’ which also reached number thirteen in the charts.
In March 2017 he was revealed as Bulgaria’s representative for the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest. Kristian will be the first performer at the contest to have been born in the 21st century. He will perform the song ‘Beautiful Mess’ in Kyiv in May.
