What should I know about PÆNDA?
Gabriela Horn who goes by the stage name PÆNDA has been chosen to represent Austria at Eurovision Song Contest 2019. Selected by the broadcaster ORF, the singer-songwriter and producer has been the core participant in the creation of all her tracks. She will be representing her country with a ballad titled “Limits” and she shares the complete creative credit for the track.
The song showcases the vulnerable side of the singer as she tries to find the point where she needs to draw a line and stop to rest. The song features on her new album “Evolution II” which was released on 26th April 2019.
Eurovision TV shared ORF’s view on PÆNDA selection for the competition. As quoted on the website, ORF program director Mag. Kathrin Zechner said:
“PÆNDA is an outstandingly versatile artist and woman, who not only composed and wrote but also produced the songs she sings. These are her own emotions, experiences and her soul that she expresses and with that, she will cast a spell over the audience.”
The artist launched her first project in the year 2015 and released her single “Waves”. PÆNDA is known for experimenting with different styles and genres. “Limits” is one fine example. Experimenting with genres ranging from pop to hip-hop, a ballad song definitely offers a different perspective towards her artistry. It will be interesting to see the audience’s response to her performance.
