So, first of all, what is fascia? It’s all the rage right now in self-care, but do we know what it is? There are wild definitions out there, but the one that seems to have stuck is that fascia is the connective tissue that surrounds our muscles and holds our organs in place. However, Ashley Black, founder of Advanced Regenerative Research Technologies and Associates (ARRTA) and Ashley Black, Inc., says that the definition of fascia is limited. “Fascia is so much more important than being a sheath; it’s a continuum. Fascia is the liquid, gel-like, and fibrous system of our body, from our skin to our mitochondria. It feeds our trillions of cells, like soil to a plant,” says Black.
FasciaBlasters are for baby smooth skin, right?
Wait what? We thought fascia was for cellulite treatments, skin snatching, and loosening up after the gym. Ashley’s inaugural product, the FasciaBlaster, burst onto the scene, got the fast patronage of celebrities like the Kardashians and Shakira, and introduced the world to the concept of fascia being the root cause of distortions in the skin, like wrinkles and cellulite. Black says that “the beauty connection is that fascia is, in part, like a lattice structure made largely of collagen, that supports our skin. When it is dried out, thickened, or has micro adhesions, it doesn’t support the skin properly. That’s when we see troughs or wrinkles. That’s when we see fascia morph into fibrous cords, what we call cellulite.” But that’s not at all what Black and her team have been researching at ARRTA. “Cellulite is certainly not my driver; what fascia can do for human health and performance is.”
Heaven sparked a Lifelong Passion
Although Ashley has become IG famous for the miraculous results in the beauty space, garnishing over 9 million social followers and counting, she didn’t come from the beauty industry, and her passion for fascia is deep-rooted. “I had a near-death experience when I was 30. When you take a stroll on the other side, you remember who you really are, and when you come back, you have a different lens”. Black parlayed her NDE wisdom into a ferocious appetite for medical knowledge beyond what was readily available because the bone infection that almost killed her left her cripple. “At first, I just wanted to fix myself and be a Mom to my babies, but when my self-care method worked, I knew part of my purpose was to bring this knowledge to help others.” Black has been sharing her knowledge for the better part of three decades. And it hasn’t gone unnoticed. Black has had a TED talk about fascia, has made America’s Fastest Growing Companies list twice, and won an International Lifetime Achievement Stevie Award in consumer goods. Black says, “Accolades are always nice, but what means the most to me is meeting fans, hugging them, and hearing their triumphs. I love being able to bring hope to people who are seeking health”.
The Next Generation of Fascia Care
What are the possibilities with fascia care? Ashley says she is the first to admit that the beauty results are nice, and says, “Don’t think for one second that I’m not blasting my 51-year-old legs and working on my neck”, but as the founder of ARRTA, she is taking a different direction professionally. “You know, I spent almost 20 years working with professional athletes and severely injured people, so it’s important not to let the world whisk me off into beauty treatments. Been there, done that, proved it. All my time now is spent geeking out on the science of fascia and researching the effects of my treatments on longevity, telomere length, mitochondrial health, immunological markers, and inflammation.” Black says that fascia care is like brushing your teeth or your hair; it’s a daily practice. That’s why she launched the FasciaBlaster to the public, so they could see for themselves. Now that millions of people are FasciaBlasting, Black is shifting her focus to professional education. “Last year, we launched the Fascia Advancement Academy, and it has been a wild success. I love to educate professionals, and I am ready to pass the torch to the next generation of healers. I’m ready to build out all my visions for fascia care machines- it’s going to be mind-blowing”
Ashley Black’s net worth and plans for a better world
And if you’re wondering if Black has been financially successful, her estimated net worth is around $500M. Black not only owns FasciaBlaster, but she also has an IP company and real estate holdings. Ashley Black, Inc. raised capital in 2022 at the discounted valuation for her fans to invest at $50M. But the company is on a steep upward trend and valued into multiple 9 figures. ARRTA, the parent company for Black’s technologies, has an unknown value, and Black will only hint about it’s worth. “With what we are discovering with our R and D, the value is something I can’t even comprehend.” Black also owns an estate in Texas and a real estate portfolio in Costa Rica, where she resides. But don’t think you’re going to see Ashley dripping in diamonds; she has other plans for her fortune. “I am devoted to contributing to a reversal of the damage humans are causing to our environment and to our human meat suits.” She says her ultimate life goal is to “be an inspiration. I want to make a real impact in the hearts of society to be more loving and more compassionate to ourselves, each other, and our planet”.
