Belgium’s Sennek has released her Eurovision song “A Matter Of Time”

It’s been months since it was announced that Sennek (Laura Groeseneken) will be representing Belgium during Eurovision 2018. However, she has finally released the song that she’ll be performing, and has also dropped its music video.

Today, her Eurovision song “A Matter Of Time” debuted on Belgian radio, with the official music video banging on our door, too. The interesting story is that the release had been scheduled for Tuesday, but the fans were too enthusiastic about the tune, and immediately leaked it to social media last night, as they had obtained a copy of the pop song.

“A Matter Of Time” is mysterious, of which the singer described as “not a typical one”. She feels jazz music is closest to her heart, however, she says that it’s hard to attribute the track to one specific music style, and she didn’t even want to sing something that’s specifically for Eurovision.

Follow your own path, and think about what YOU want to do with the little but precious time we have on Earth – this is what the meaningful lyrics are about.

Belgium has finished in the top 10 in the finals of the huge music event for the past three years, which is a really good achievement, yet it means that we all have very high expectations for the country this year. However, they didn’t wait long to announce their representative, who was the first confirmed act for ESC 2018.

Back in September, they announced that Sennek had been chosen to represent her homeland in Lisbon, Portugal in May. She will be the 60th artist and the third female singer to sing for Belgium in the contest.

Sennek will perform in the first half of the first semi-final on May 8, and we can’t wait to find out if she can keep Belgium’s streak going by becoming the fourth consecutive Belgian act to finish in the top ten.

What do you think about Sennek’s song for Eurovision 2018? Can Belgium actually win the contest this time? Let us know your thoughts on Twitter @CelebMix.
