America’s Got Talent: The Champions singer/songwriter, Bianca Ryan, has released the music video for her latest single, “They Wanna Be Us Now.”
The video stars upcoming actress/dancer Zoephia as young Bianca, and AGT alum and dancer, Merrick Hanna, as the main bully. It was shot at Mark Twain Middle School in New York. The single was produced and co-written by Nick Nittoli.
“They Wanna Be Us Now” first appeared on the singer’s EP, The Reintroduction: Part 1. Speaking about the song, Ryan said, “It is for all the outcasts who were always put down by the cool kids or not invited to hang out. Don’t you worry, spend the time working hard and dreaming big…Those kids are going to want to be you someday.”
The video is a great representation of the message Ryan is trying to convey. Young Bianca gets teased in the cafeteria and dreams of being a dancer. After watching dancers on her TV, young Bianca gains power and knocks the items off of her desk. When she comes back to school, the bullies tease her and she uses her power to stand up to him and shake him around. She takes power over the whole cafeteria and is finally proud to be herself.
This song may just be the next big summer hit!
A few months ago, Ryan posted a behind-the-scenes video of the making of the video. Check it out here.
