Billie Lourd has been cast in the new season of American Horror Story.
Lourd will appear in the shows upcoming 7th season alongside Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters.
This will be the second television show Billie has worked on with American Horror Story co-creator Ryan Murphy, following her two season run on Fox’s Scream Queens, also co-created by Murphy.
Actor Billy Eichner has also been cast in the new season, which starts shooting in June.
Ryan Murphy revealed to fans of the FX show that the upcoming series was inspired by the 2016 American Presidential Election, which saw Donald Trump beat out Hilary Clinton to become the 45th President of The United States.
Characters corresponding to Trump and Clinton may provide a backdrop to the action, which starts on Election Night.
Further details about the new season’s themes and storyline are being kept under wraps.
Billie Lourd, the daughter of Carrie Fisher and Granddaughter of Debbie Reynolds (both of whom died suddenly last December), is best known for her role as Chanel #3 in Scream Queens.
Chanel wore earmuffs as an homage to Carrie’s “cinnamon buns” hairstyle in the original Star Wars film and was described as being a ‘a rich and disaffected sorority girl’.
Lourd can also be seen in the biographical crime drama Billionaire Boys Club.
Directed by James Cox and starring Kevin Spacey and Emma Roberts, BBC is based on the real life Billionaire Boys Club active in Southern California during the 1980s.
In 2016 Billie had a small part alongside her late mother in Star Wars: The Force Awakens and is returning for the upcoming Star Wars: The Last Jedi.
