Nigerian rapper and singer-songwriter Blaqbonez drops his new single, “Bad Till Eternity,” featuring Zlatan. “Bad Till Eternity” is a heartfelt tribute to the late Nigerian artist, MohBad, who tragically passed away in September.
Blaqbnez is set to release his third studio album Emeka Must Shine on October 27. The upcoming album includes “Bad Till Eternity.”
Blaqbonez, aka Akumefule Chukwuemeka George, started rapping at the age of 13, despite his parents’ disapproval, and dropped his first project “Hip Hop Is Blaq” years later, while attending Obafemi Awolowo University. He started gaining popularity as an undergraduate at the university, fiercely active on social media and within the University’s student community.
Since then, he’s signed with Chocolate City Music, released a series of hit singles and albums, and amassed more than 200 million streams, including “Bling” with 37 million streams, “Back in Uni” with 32 million streams, “Commander” with over 16 million streams, “Like Ice Spice” with more than 13 million streams, and “Shut Up” with 7.9 million streams.
In 2019, Blaqbonez’s popularity surged after he declared himself, BRIA (Best Rapper in Africa). He followed by releasing Mr. Boombastic, which debuted at #1 on iTunes.
His debut album Sex over Love dropped on April 30, 2021, and has garnered over 90 million streams, along with being the #1 album in Nigeria on Apple for three consecutive weeks; #1 Song in Nigeria – on Apple for one week; #2 Top 100 Songs – Deezer; and #2 Top Played Song in Nigeria – Radio Monitor Charts.
“Bad Till Eternity” rolls out on a delicious, polymetric beat topped by soft, shimmering harmonic tones, revealing silky-smooth waves of R&B flavors. At once genuine and soulful, the melodic rapping flows of Blaqbonez and Zlatan imbue the rhymes with warm nostalgic timbres.
Blaqbonez has it going on! With “Bad Till Eternity,” he delivers a sumptuous, beautifully profound homage to MohBad.
