After much speculation, Brian Conley has been confirmed as the tenth celebrity to take part in this year’s Strictly Come Dancing.
The announcement was made on Steve Wright in the Afternoon on BBC Radio 2 earlier today. Speaking about taking part, Brian said: “I’m delighted and honoured to be asked to strut my stuff on this year’s Strictly. My family all love the show and can’t wait to see me do my Dad dancing on national television. I know it’s going to be a lot of hard work but I’m up for the challenge, so bring on the spray tan and sequins.”

The comedian, TV presenter and actor rose to fame with The Brian Conley Show, which gave the world the catchphrase ‘It’s a puppet!’
Brian’s career spans over 40 years, with West End productions and three albums among his many credits. He has also performed and presented at the Royal Variety Performance eight times. Brian recently finished a sell-out UK tour and will star in his thirty-fifth pantomime later this year.
The Strictly Come Dancing 2017 line up is now two-thirds complete. Brian joins the previously announced Mollie King, Davood Ghadami, Ruth Langsford, Gemma Atkinson, Reverend Richard Coles, Joe McFadden, Simon Rimmer, Aston Merrygold and Susan Calman. With five contestants left to be revealed, we can’t wait to see who else will be competing this year.
