Rising all around is Brice Robell with his awesome soulful R&B synthy track “City Lights”. The song has quickly become his most popular track on Spotify and is one of 14 tracks from his sophomore album, titled “RFLCT PT.1”. The album release was his first in three years following on from his 2020 debut, “The Lenten Rose”.

Brice Robell, a multifaceted artist, has been immersed in the world of music since his early years. From transforming his mom’s pots and pans into a makeshift drum set to singing with church choirs, following his sister to piano lessons, and performing in musicals, Brice Robell’s passion for music has been ever-present. While he briefly stepped away from music to pursue college basketball, the call in his heart drew him back to his true passion. Brice Robell’s artistic journey led him to develop a fusionist philosophy-driven debut album, “RFLCT PT.1”, which showcases his vulnerability, honesty, and philosophical lyricism. Drawing inspiration from a diverse range of genres such as hip-hop, soul, jazz/funk, alt R&B, and even the ambience of film scores, Brice Robell’s music defies categorisation. As a vocalist, lyricist, producer, and multi-instrumentalist, he continuously seeks to create, learn, and build bridges through the transformative power of music. With “RFLCT PT.2” in the works and plans for a small West Coast tour, Brice Robell is poised to make his mark as a dynamic talent in the music industry.

Written by Brice Robell, “City Lights” is a pure soulful R&B track that spins around awesome EDM synths that really allows the vocals to shine. With a smooth soulful male vocal, Brice Robell impresses as he delves into lyrics that bring attention to mental health. He adds harmonies to give depth and distorts his voice electronically to create contrast.

Talking about the track, Brice Robell said: “‘City Lights’ is a poetic caution sign; it warns against the empty promises of mass consumerism, attention economy, shady businessmen, and Western individualism. This entire album is my experience and deep disturbance with the new normal and the statistics of our youth. They are more anxious, depressed, and suicidal than ever before. I’m striving to bring a deeper awareness and alternative to these profound problems.”
