Rising R&B/pop singer-songwriter Brii Elliss recently released her new single, “Perfect 4 Me,” a track presaging her upcoming sophomore EP, All-In, set for release on November 17.
Talking about the track, Elliss shares, “‘Perfect 4 Me’ captures the profound experience of falling deeply in love with someone for the first time. The lyrics behind this song represent my personal experience with young love, which I think listeners will resonate strongly with.”
The passionate lyrics reveal the thrilling and profound feeling of the honeymoon stage of a relationship, where life appears picture-perfect and full of bright colors.
“When the day is done / Oh Baby / You’re the one I want / So Crazy / There’s no if, and, buts or maybes / You’re my safety / You saved me yea / I know I’m done searching / Never been more certain / You lift my every burden / Couldn’t be more perfect for me.”
A native of New Jersey, Elliss has been singing since she can remember, Brii was on the path to stardom by the age of 12, having already auditioned for the famed X-Factor show and made it through several rounds.
Throughout high school, she continued pursuing music by writing new songs and recording them, honing her piano skills, and preparing to move to LA where she attended college at Loyola Marymount University and graduated with her bachelor’s degree in music.
As she began to record her own music, she realized how much she needed music to be center stage in her life. According to Elliss, “I’m in my element when I am recording and surrounded by other creatives. It feels like home to me, and it’s still my happy place today.”
“Perfect 4 Me” opens on low-slung, glittering colors rolling into a delicious, syncopated R&B rhythm embracing a finessed bassline as Elliss’ sultry vocals imbue the lyrics with sumptuous sensuality decorated by stylish nuances. Softly radiant vocal harmonies add depth and dimension.
