BTS is starting out 2019 strong, having become the first Korean group to surpass 600 million views on YouTube with their “DNA” music video. The video released back in September of 2017 as part of the group’s album, Love Yourself: Her, the first in the Love Yourself series, which also includes albums Love Yourself: Tear and Love Yourself: Answer.
“DNA” was Love Yourself: Her‘s leading single, followed by the hip hop track, “Mic Drop.” The song debuted at No.85 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, becoming the group’s first Hot 100 entry hit.
The music video for “DNA” also achieved 21 million YouTube views in 24 hours at the time of its release, the fastest for any K-pop group.
The original “DNA”, as well as a remix, is also featured on Love Yourself: Answer, a compilation album that includes several tracks on both Love Yourself: Her and Love Yourself: Tear.
