This has been one eventful summer for BTS and their ARMY. Following the release of BTS’ Bring The Soul: The Movie and V’s solo single “Winter Bear,” BTS’ music video for “DNA” has now hit 800 million views. The video was originally released on September 18, 2017, and accumulated just under 21 million views in its first 24 hours on YouTube, breaking the platform’s record for the most music video views in a day.
BTS’ “DNA” music video is the group’s first music video to reach 800 million views. The music video is also the first by a Korean boy group to reach the milestone on YouTube. The only other Korean music videos to reach the 800-million mark are PSY’s “Gangnam Style” and “Gentleman,” as well as BLACKPINK’s “DDU-DU DDU-DU.”
“DNA” was released as the lead single from the group’s Love Yourself: Her album, which is part of a trilogy of albums that also includes Love Yourself: Tear and Love Yourself: Answer. The group’s most recent album, Map of the Soul: Persona, came out on April 12 earlier this year. Fans believe BTS will make another comeback soon, but neither Big Hit Entertainment nor BTS has confirmed anything.
With BTS’ “DNA” music video having reached 800 million views now, it’s only a matter of time before it reaches 900 million views!
