While BTS’ album for Map of the Soul: Persona has 200 million Spotify streams, the group has over 5 billion streams in total on the platform. The group achieved the milestone last month on April 10th, becoming the first and only Asian artist to do so. According to Spotify’s year-end rankings, BTS was the second most-streamed group on the platform in 2018, behind rock group Imagine Dragons. BTS has even achieved impressive feats as solo artists on the streaming platform. On April 8th, BTS member J-Hope became the most-followed Korean solo artist on Spotify.
The group’s digital sales and streaming numbers are impressive, but they are also doing extremely well in terms of physical sales too. Just five days after being released on April 16, Map of the Soul: Persona surpassed 2 million physical album sales, as reported by Soompi.
The guys will perform the album’s lead single, “Boy With Luv,” on the Billboard Music Awards tonight in Las Vegas. While the group has been performing the single for the past few weeks on Korean music programs, their BBMAs performance will be their first live performance with Halsey, who features on the track. To celebrate the occasion, the “Without Me” singer gifted all of the members friendship bracelets.
Catch BTS and Halsey tonight at the Billboard Music Awards at 8 PM EST on NBC.
