Camila Cabello has unveiled the striking music video for her new single ‘Consequences (Orchestra)’.
Directed by Dave Meyers, who also shot the music video for ‘Havana’, the beautiful visual sees Camila reminisce over the joys and heartache of a previous relationship. The video begins with Camila taking a stroll on an Autumn’s day, when she suddenly envisages her ex-partner (played by Dylan Sprouse) playing the piano.
Camila remembers the playful chasing, sweet kisses, and piano duets until the season changes to Winter, and her dreamy memories turn a little sour. Soon the happy moments of affection are replaced with fights and sadness as we witness the deterioration of their relationship.
Camila later sings to her ex-lover’s ghost and as the pair embrace, they spin into the air for one final magical moment. As the relationship comes to an end, the season changes to Spring and we are left with an emotional Camila being comforted by her own ghost.
Once again, Camila has delivered a stellar visual which not only has a cinematic quality, but also perfectly encapsulates the message behind the song. The songstress is not afraid to love deeply, including self-love which is of the utmost importance, even if it means having to deal with the consequences of doing so. In the words of Alfred Lord Tennyson, “it’s better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all”.

‘Consequences’ is the final single to be taken from Camila’s self-titled debut album. Taking to Instagram, the songstress spoke in depth about why she chose this particular song to wrap up her debut era.
“A lot of people say ballads like this are “risky” and with every single I’ve picked I get looks like I have three heads, because people always want you to go with a song that sounds like something that’s already on the radio. It would be playing it safe for me to make a song that sounds like Havana or another uptempo song, but to me, my goal is to challenge myself by not doing what feels predictable or obvious, to do things that excite me, and give you the most honest representation of who I am through music.”
“I wanted to close this era finishing on a song that makes you feel, that makes you think about someone you loved and lost, that makes you think about what it’s like to love someone so deeply. If this era tugs on your heart strings even a little bit, that’s all I care about.”
Camila performed ‘Consequences’ during last night’s American Music Awards. Accompanied by a live orchestra, Camila delivered a spinetingling version of the song which allowed her to truly showcase the emotion of the lyrics. During the night, she also took home four awards: New Artist of the Year, Collaboration of the Year, Favorite Song-Pop/Rock, and Favorite Music Video.
