Whilst Capital FM’s Summertime Ball has been cancelled this year due to the current global pandemic, Capital FM has announced an exciting ‘best of’ live stream which will relive some of the most iconic performances in STB history.
The Best of Capital FM’s Summertime Ball with Barclaycard will broadcast simultaneously worldwide on Capital, Global Player, Sky One and YouTube at 5pm UK time on Saturday May 16th.
The two-hour celebration will be hosted live by Capital Breakfast’s Roman Kemp, Sian Welby and Sonny Jay, and will feature performances hand-picked by Capital as well as new and exclusive interviews about the show with some of the artists who have taken to the STB stage over the years.
The line up of artist performances and interviews we can expect to see during the show has also been announced, and it’s without doubt the line up of our dreams! Highlights will include Justin Bieber and Katy Perry’s 2012 performances, 80,000 people doing ‘Gangnam Style’ with Psy in 2013, One Direction’s opening performance in 2015, and a performance from STB queens Little Mix.
Other artists who will feature during the show include Ariana Grande, Camila Cabello, Shawn Mendes, Stormzy, Jonas Brothers, Ed Sheeran, Calvin Harris, David Guetta, Tinie, Bruno Mars, Coldplay, Pharrell Williams, Jess Glynne and more!
Announcing the show on his Capital Breakfast show this morning, Roman Kemp said: “There’s something so special about Capital’s Summertime Ball – the fans, the amazing atmosphere as 80,000 listeners party along to their favourite artists on a summer’s day, and of course the incredible performances from the world’s biggest stars. We hope you’ll all join us from home as we relive the best of Capital’s Summertime Ball live – it’s going to be an incredible show celebrating 11 years of the most iconic moments from the UK’s biggest summer party!”
The two-hour broadcast will be sponsored by Barclaycard as part of a new three-year partnership with Global. This includes Barclaycard’s headline sponsorship of Capital Summertime Ball and Jingle Bell Ball for the future.
The Best of Capital’s Summertime Ball with Barclaycard will be broadcast live on Saturday 16th May from 5pm UK time (9am PST, 12pm EST). Tune in via Capital, Global Player, Sky One, NOW TV, and YouTube.
