Today pop-rock firecracker Carlie Hanson is back with her first new music of the year in ‘Back In My Arms’.
Rough around the edges and distinctly Carlie Hanson, ‘Back In My Arms’ is a triumphant return from the 18-year-old. A ballad that doesn’t let up in pace, the M-Phazes produced track is a new sound for Hanson who took to Instagram to announce to fans that, “I put my whole heart into this song”.
Spending the last six months supporting the likes of Troye Sivan and Yungblud across the globe, Hanson’s explosive sets have won over fans in their thousands. ‘Back In My Arms’ follows 2018’s biting ‘Numb’ and infectious ‘Toxins’. Later this year, the Wisconsin-born singer will be heading down under with Lauv on his how i’m feeling Australian tour.

Labeled “a little bit of Lorde, a little bit of Billie Eilish meet Kiiara, and a lot of something all on her own” by Minneapolis’ Twin Cities Media following an opening set on Sivan’s Bloom tour, Hanson is forging her own space in the industry. From a McDonald’s cashier to having one of her tracks spotlighted by Taylor Swift to signing with Warner Brothers Records in February, it’s been an unconventional rise. And it’s exactly that originality that marks Hanson out above the rest.
Now, with a string of seven knockout singles to her name, fans will be hoping for a bigger project sometime in the near future – and it’s clear Hanson has the means of doing it.
