Let’s rewind back to The X Factor US Season 2 where CeCe Frey auditioned. That was also the year that Britney Spears was on the judging panel. CeCe came sixth overall whilst being in Demi Lovato’s category of the young adults. She later released her debut single “Dead 2 Me” last year. It’s been a long wait but her second single is here now, titled “Broke AF”; and we absolutely adore it.
Released on her Vevo channel on 12 August 2017, and premiered by Just Jared, “Bored AF” has gained many viewers. According to the details on Vevo, the song was written by Jonathan Castelli, Zachary Scott Poor, Hayley Warner, Adam Scott Friedberg, and CeCelia Marie Frey, whilst the video was directed by Patrick Lawrence.
Watch CeCe’s Music Video To “Broke AF” Here:
The video and the song show how much CeCe has come from her very first audition on The X Factor, where she sang Christina Aguilera’s “Ain’t No Other Man”. It also shows how much the last year has changed her because “Dead 2 Me” is completely different to this.
The video accompanies the song beautifully. We watch CeCe and her boyfriend (played by rising actor Ronen Rubinstein) spending time together. She sings about being broke and there only being a mattress on the floor but the love they have for each other is enough for them.
Yet, CeCe shows how hard it is being broke and when she’s done with her waitress job she’s feeling completely down. Little did she know that her boyfriend has made one of the cutest surprises we’ve ever seen – we need a guy like that in our lives.
In the video, we also see cute little notes, that they leave for the owners of the stuff they steal; promising that they will return those items, which they do. If only life was that simple and loving.
CeCe proves that she has what it takes to be a brilliant artist in today’s market! She follows in the footsteps of other great Season 2 stars from The X Factor such as Tate Stevens, Fifth Harmony, Emblem 3, Bea Miller, and Sister C; not forgetting about the amazing talent that will be unleashed by Diamond White, Jennel Garcia, Paige Thomas, and Carly Rose Sonenclar.
