With the highly anticipated release of his brand new single ‘High Alone’, Jackson Wang showcases an altogether different side to this character.
Co-written by the singer, along with Andre Wollrabe, Charles Martin and Dwyane Fleming, the deeply introspective track dissects themes of vulnerability, loneliness and heartbreak, offering an intimate look at Jackson’s personal struggles and growth over recent years.
Reflecting on the feelings that inspired the song, Jackson says: “The deepest wounds are often not from your enemies”.

The tracks accompanying music video – directed by Rodrigo Inada – blurs the lines between illusion and reality as Magic Man performs a daring, underwater handcuff escape.
According to a press release the performance “unfolds like a spectacle, all while the audience sits transfixed, yet beneath the surface, a darker truth lingers. Using this illusional world as a metaphor, the video addresses the crucial facts about the industry and the reality of humanity”.
“It encompasses the point of view of MAGIC MAN: ‘The difference of what a performance means to the public versus what a performance means to management'”.

Serving as the lead single to be released from Wang’s upcoming album ‘MAGIC MAN 2’, the song reinvigorates the volatile relationship between Jackson and his MAGIC MAN persona – a figure first introduced in his Billboard-charting, 2022 album.
As the roll out of the new record unfolds, this alter ego will gradually reveal its “darker, toxic traits”, offering listeners an “intimate portrait of Jackson’s inner emotions, personal growth and experiences”.
Set to be released later in the year, the album will unfold in four chapters, exploring Jackson’s stages of grief.
