Here at CelebMix, we love nothing more than introducing our readers to new, up and coming talent. In this particular article, we introduce you to trio RØYLS – comprising of members Sean Killeen (vocals/guitar), Liam Ross (bass/vocals) and Drew Dirksen (vocals/guitar), who have just released their debut single ‘Savages,’ released via Big Noise / InGrooves.
The track ‘Savages’ was co-written with John Feldmann, a legendary song-writer who has worked with the likes of 5 Seconds of Summer and Panic! At The Disco. Speaking about working with him, the band explains:
“John is a huge role model for us with his work ethic. He is one of the most spontaneous, high energy, creative people we’ve ever worked with. We’ve been so blessed to do this project with him by our side.”
‘Savages’ is filled with sounds of pop, rock and electronica, contributing to the high-energy breakout single. As explained by the band, the track is “based upon a failing relationship. It’s the struggles towards the end as you care so much about this person that you don’t want to call it quits, but it’s hurting both of you so much more trying to repair what went wrong.”
The members of RØYLS are all no strangers to the music industry, each previously performing in other successful bands, including Over Atlantic and The Tide. The project began in 2018, with the three members meeting in LA to write together. The three of them clicked as song-writers, musicians and people and the release of ‘Savages’ marks what is set to be an extremely exciting journey for the band.
Speaking about their original music, RØYLS explain:
“We feel passionate about the music we’re creating and the sound we’ve been developing the past months. It’s been exciting how natural and authentic the songs have been coming out and how great it’s been writing them together. We’re stoked to get them out into the world.”
Make sure you stay up-to-date with CelebMix as we will have an exclusive interview with RØYLS being published on the site very soon!
