New wave pop’s leading light, Charli XCX teams up with Christine and the Queens on latest single ‘Gone’ ahead of her third studio album.
“This song is about feeling shy and anxious and unstable and trying to break out and free yourself of those feelings”, Charli XCX shared on Twitter. Produced by long-time collaborator A.G. Cook and landing with a high-strung music video filmed in a London warehouse, ‘Gone’ is the sizzling sophomore single from XCX’s upcoming self-titled record.
Having debuted ‘Gone’ on stage with Christine and the Queens at Primavera Sound in Barcelona last month, it’s the first collision of two of pop’s most forward-thinking minds. One of many features set to appear on Charli, due for release on September 13th, the likes of Sky Ferreira, Troye Sivan, Kim Petras, Tommy Cash, HAIM, Lizzo, Big Freedia, CupcakKe, Brooke Candy, Pabllo Vitar, Clairo and Yaeji have all been roped in by the mass collaborator too.
Announcing a full U.S. and European tour to accompany Charli, XCX kicks off her shows in the States in September, before coming to Europe in October with a monumental headline slot in her hometown London’s O2 Academy Brixton. Tickets are available here, pre-order Charlihere.
