After plenty of teasing on social media, Charlie Puth has dropped another infectious track in the form of ‘Mother’.
Written and produced by Charlie alongside Andrew Watt, Louis Bell and Ryan Tedder, ‘Mother’ is a playful release from the singer-songwriter which sees him talk about all of the secrets he and his lover keep from her parents.
“If your mother knew all the things we do (We do), if your mother knew, she’d keep me so far from you”, Charlie sings over the flirtatious and mesmerising beat. There’s no doubt that this is another earworm release from Mr Puth and the dreamy chorus will be on repeat in your mind for the foreseeable.
Charlie has also unveiled the music video for ‘Mother’. Directed by Dawit N.M., the visual focuses on a group of friends and all of the fun antics they get up to away from the eyes of their parents. Shots of the gang in the pool and in the car are intertwined with scenes of Charlie performing the song.

‘Mother’ follows on from Charlie’s latest release, ‘I Warned Myself’, which has already racked up over 19 million streams and 14 million video views. Both tracks are taken from his forthcoming studio album which will be the follow up to his 2018 sophomore release, Voicenotes.
