If at first, you really succeed, you should totally do it again. This saying may or may not have been on the mind of highly-acclaimed Latin American pop act CNCO as they were prepping their next move to conquer the hearts of their international audience once and for all. Obviously, they were more than just correct.

After dancing the Reggaetón Lento with Little Mix last year and casually shipping roundabout a million copies of it, CNCO decided that it was just the right time for their next act: a Spanglish remix to “Hey DJ”. The original record already enjoyed a range of top ten placements in Spanish-speaking countries after its debut and has so far accumulated about 300 million streams on Spotify alone. So it should come as no surprise to anyone that this was the obvious choice for the band’s next crossover hit.

Similar to Reggaetón Lento, CNCO is joined by a group of famous singers: This time, they consist of no one less than Meghan Trainor and Sean Paul, with star-songwriters Matt Radosevich (“In the Name Of Love”, “Love Me Or Leave Me”) and Sofi de La Torre providing additional lyrics.

The song was first teased by Trainor during a guest appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and was later confirmed by the band during a Latin American Music Awards red carpet interview.

The remix sees Meghan Trainor starting off the track with a brand-new verse and hook while the band joins in with the original chorus right after. Sean Paul hops in in-between to do what he does best: bring the fun to the party. The Spanglish version of “Hey DJ” ends up being more fun than the original track: while staying true to its original, it also lends it an updated and even purer sound.

Listen to the track down below:

“Hey DJ” originates from CNCO’s self-titled second album which was released in April. The remix is released via Simco Limited and is available for streaming and purchase on all digital retailers and services. An official music video is in the making and will follow soon.
