Coldplay is one of the most popular bands of the century! They’re talented, successful, and the chosen ones to perform at the 50 Super Bowl.
2014 was a good year for Coldplay, The Ghost Stories Tour was 20 dates of total magic – but that didn’t even begin to touch their 2015!
Though the first months of the year were a calm for Coldplay and their fans, it was completely compensated for later on! On May 22, Coldplay collaborated with the cast of Game Of Thrones to create Game Of Thrones: The Musical for Red Nose Day, as they were preparing their new album.
On September 18 they performed at the iHeart Radio Music Festival, in Las Vegas and on the 26th they performed at the Global Citizen Festival (organized by their own frontman, Chris Martin). They performed Just A Little Bit Of Your Heart with Ariana Grande – the song written by Harry Styles – and debuted a new song called Amazing Day.
On November 6th, they released Adventure of a Lifetime, the first single of their new album, with a flawless performance at the NRJ Music Awards in Cannes. They went back to the AMA’s stage later that month to perform the wonderful single again. The official music video came out on November 29th!
December started off very strong! Coldplay had a BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge performance on the 3rd, another one at the Capital FM Jingle Bell Ball, and the rumors were confirmed: They’re performing at the Super Bowl 2016.
The best was still yet to come for Coldplay! With a live stream on their Facebook page they celebrated the release of their long awaited seventh studio album: A Head Full of Dreams! This album includes collaborations with Beyoncé, Noel Gallagher, Tove Lo, Khatia Buniatishvili, and Merry Clayton – making it one of the most anticipated albums of the year.
A Head Full of Dreams debuted #1 on digital charts of the UK – with Gold certifications in Australia, Belgium, Canada, Germany, Hungary, Italy, and New Zealand. It also earned Platinum certification in the UK.
The A Head Full of Dreams Tour will start in South America on March 31st with 38 dates! Coldplay is performing for the first time in Peru and visiting many Europe countries.
With a Super Bowl performance, an upcoming tour, and one album that will surely give hit after hit – there is no doubt 2016 is going to be the year of Coldplay!
