Musical group, Fitz and The Tantrums, kicked off their Come Get Your Love fall tour last night at the Fox Theater in Oakland, CA. Their entire set was a dance party from start to finish and we had the pleasure of catching their show!

Hosted by the beautiful venue that is The Fox Theater in Oakland, CA; doors opened at 7pm and fans rushed in to get a good spot for the show that awaited them. Fitz and The Tantrums were supported by singer Tyler Glen. Unfortunately we were running late and were not able to catch his set on time. The venue played some jazzy tunes to set the mood as we waited between acts. By 9:20pm the band of the night finally hit the stage as the crowd went wild with their opening song: ‘Spark’.

This group really came together to create an eclectic show. Frontman, Michael Fitzpatrick, really got the crowd pumped and often exclaimed that the audience came to party. He used the energy of the crowd to his advantage and sang with a hint of sass that was a joy to witness. He even conducted the crowd to sing a very special happy birthday to vocalist, Noelle Scaggs! She also was quite the crowd pleaser with her soulful voice and playful stage presence. Her stage costume was also very stunning! Fitz and The Tantrums continued to amaze us with live songs from both their previous album, ‘More Than Just A Dream‘ and their new, self-titled album, ‘Fitz and The Tantrums‘. One of our favorite songs from the night was ‘It’s Complicated’ from their newest album.

A unique factor that this band has is their very own saxophone player, James King. It is a highly known fact that if a sultry saxophone solo is added into your show, you are bound to be one of the coolest groups out there. Another factor that added to the fun party vibe of the show was definitely their stage set up. There were neon lights everywhere which made everything seem 10x cooler yet also reflected the theme of their album cover.

The band finally ended their show with their hit song ‘The Walker’. Overall, we were pleasantly happy with their set. It was our first time seeing them in concert so we did not know what to expect. The show was filled with so much energy; there was not a moment that we were not singing along or tapping our feet. We would definitely go see them again next time around!
