Ella Eyre was the support act, and she really got the crowd prepared for The Script. Her high-energy set had everyone in the audience singing and dancing along. The talented singer performed an array of her hits, including ‘Together,’ ‘We Don’t Have To Take Our Clothes Off’, rounding up her set with ‘Came Here For Love.’ She also performed several new tracks, which were phenomenal. No doubt she is set to have an incredible year of success ahead of her!
Following a brief interval, it was then time for The Script to take to the stage. Different interpretations of the word ‘freedom’ were showcased in the opening video. Their set began with hit ‘Superheroes,’ followed by tracks ‘Rock The World’ and ‘Paint The Town Green,’ a track which is always well received by the Irish crowds!
As their set progressed, the talented trio – Mark, Glen and Danny – performed some of their older hits from previous albums, such as ‘It’s Not Right For You’ and ‘The Man Who Can’t Be Moved.’ The array of hits – both old and new – highlighted the phenomenal talent that The Script possess.
The band repeatedly thanked fans for their continued support over the years, ultimately showcasing their humility and gratitude to the people who have got them to the stage they are at in their careers.
The crowd interaction was absolutely phenomenal. The band went truly above and beyond the normal walk-through the audience. At one point, they performed tracks ‘If You Ever Come Back’ and ‘Never Seen Anything Quite Like You’ acoustically in the middle of the row as part of what they described as ‘busking’ – with Danny joking that he should have brought a hat to collect money from the fans!
For the encore segment, the trio performed ‘No Good In Goodbye,’ ‘Breakeven’ and ‘Hall of Fame.’
The atmosphere was absolutely indescribable. If you do get the chance to see The Script live on their current world tour, you need to take the chance! A full list of tour dates can be found here.
