DISCOVER: Don Diablo Has Collaborated With Jessie J On Addicting New Track “Brave”

This week has been rich full of new music, but one of our favourites is certainly the collaboration between Don Diablo and Jessie J, titled “Brave”. The song has already gained over 1 million Spotify streams and is set to become a hit for the pair. The song follows up Don Diablo’s collaboration with CID, titled “Fever”, and Jessie J’s Christmas album, titled This Christmas Day.

Don Diablo, whose real name is Don Schipper, is a Dutch DJ who has been named as one of the best in the world. Many of his songs have charted in various countries. He has millions of streams on Spotify and a global chart hit is clearly just around the corner for him. He has released a multitude of tracks over the last few years, collaborating with the likes of Emeli Sandé, Gucci Mane, A R I Z O N A, Ansel Elgort, Calum Scott, Alex Clare, Kiiara, and more. He has also dropped plenty of official remixes over the last few years too including Panic! At The Disco’s “High Hopes”, Mark Ronson’s “Nothing Breaks Like A Heart” which features Miley Cyrus, and Rihanna’s “Love On The Brain”. It’s undeniable that Don Diablo has a strong and determined work ethic, and by doing so has given him these amazing opportunities, and we’re excited to see where his career takes him.

As for Jessie J, whose real name is Jessica Cornish, she hit the UK charts hard at the start of her career, but lately hasn’t been charting with her incredible new releases, from “Real Deal” to “Think About That“, from “Not My Ex” to “Love Will Save The World”. In 2018, she took part in the Chinese TV show titled Singer, and came in first place, becoming the first international winner of the show. She later released her first Christmas album, last year, whilst also confirming that she’s going to become a coach for the third series of the UK version of The Voice Kids; this will mark her return to the international show as she previously was a coach on the adult version for series one and two, and then later became a coach on seasons four and five of the Australian version of The Voice.

This new song has been written by Don Schipper, Edvard Førre Erfjord, Henrik Barman Michelsen, James Newman, Janee Bennett, Jess Glynne, Martijn van Sonderen, and Sophie Francis Cook. Talking about the track in a press release, Don Diablo said: “Sometimes, you just need an extra push to have more courage in life and more courage to chase your dreams or to simply stand up for what you believe in. I had always wanted to work with Jessie, but I also know she doesn’t often feature on other people’s records. So, it felt like I needed to wait for the right moment. ‘Brave’ was that moment.”

Jessie J further commented by saying: “After hearing Don’s demo of ‘Brave’ I immediately wanted to be a part of this great song and message. There is nothing about this song that doesn’t make you feel something or want to dance! A perfect summer anthem, and I’m so happy to be on tour right now so I can perform it for my fans. Super grateful to Don Diablo for asking me to feature, and excited for the world to hear it!”

This is the second collaboration that Don Diablo has done with a winner of The Brits Critics’ Choice Award, the previous of which was with Emeli Sandé on the song “Survive” which also featured Gucci Mane. “Brave” is one inspiring track that is set to lift up everyone who listens to this track. We’re all brave even when fear is standing in our faces. Jessie J’s voice is as brilliant as ever, easily conveying the song’s message to all even though, surprisingly, she didn’t have a hand in writing the anthem. As for Don Diablo, he brings a sure-fire dance track with impressive beats that crescendoes as the song progresses, there’s a brilliant build-up that starts small and slight and becomes this unstoppable force. Inspiring us all over the world to face our fears, Don Diablo and Jessie J make the perfect team.

“Brave” is available to download and stream right now via Casablanca Records (Republic Records) in connection with Hexagon Music.
