I’m sure you would agree that Bali is well known as a true foodie destination, with all the best dishes from around the world now available on this little island paradise. This makes it hard to choose between the best restaurants in Bali, especially since there are more fine dining destinations popping up all over the island.

As such, it’s only natural to feel overwhelmed when deciding where to eat next. In this guide, we will provide you with the best fine dining restaurants in Bali so that you can make the most of your time in Bali. Let’s dive in?

Now this is by far the best restaurants in Ubud, Bali – especially for seafood lovers. Focusing solely on fish and seafood, the restaurant is a haven for seafood lovers. Their specialties include Barramundi with Black Dumplings, Lobster & Zucchini Pasta, Grilled Oysters, and Octopus with Tomato Fondant, all made with fresh and high-quality ingredients. To complement its delicious seafood menu, Nautilus also provides specially curated cocktails and wines selection, with options ranging from light and refreshing to bold and full-bodied – there’s always something to pair with the dishes!

    Hujan Locale

Just footsteps from the vibrant Ubud Market, Hujan Locale is known for its reputation of serving high-quality Indonesian food, in a modern twist.

From the rich Sumatran Rendang and savory Martabak to the eclectic Sate, Hujan Locale’s menu explores the rich culinary heritage of each region and brings its essence to this restaurant in Ubud. The restaurant also uses local produce to create dishes that range from traditional street food recipes to modern dishes. The restaurant’s warm and welcoming atmosphere, coupled with its family-style sharing menu (Megibung in Balinese), makes for an idyllic setting for a healthy feast.

    Locavore NXT

As the winner of the Sustainable Restaurant Award at Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants in 2019 – Locavore, with the tagline ‘A Localized Rebellion’, upholds its mission by using only locally sourced ingredients. Locavore’s cuisine celebrates Indonesian farmers, fishermen and food artisans using modern European cooking techniques – giving it a unique concept.

If you have adventurous food liking, enjoy fine dining and lots of courses in a tasting menu, then this is the place to go – At Locavore NXT, the menu consists of 20+ courses, including drink pairings, using local beverages such as Brem, Arak, and Tuak instead of imported alcoholic beverages. This approach is in keeping with their aim to serve an authentic Balinese experience.

    Sisterfields

Conveniently located in the center of Seminyak, this chic spot embodies Australia’s unique café culture – delivering hearty all-day Australian breakfast and superb coffee to the bustling area. The space is light and airy, with smart glass walls and marble-top tables. The all-day menu is simple, easy and filled with crowd-pleasers like truffled scrambled eggs with mushrooms and bacon, and an Instagram-able acai bowl with blueberries and banana.

If you’re in the mood for a hearty breakfast, try the house burger, a 1/3-pound beef patty topped with smoked cheddar, house sauce, and pickled onions. They are committed to keeping their food fresh by using high-quality, handmade ingredients prepared from scratch every day.

    Mama San Bali

Inspired by the luxury of 1920s Shanghai, the restaurant’s interior features plush green seating, dark wood walls, and elegant chandeliers, creating an elegant and cozy atmosphere.

The menu is constantly evolving, celebrating seasonality and sustainability, yet drastically different from the rich and delicious Southeast Asian cuisine. Everything is fresh, locally sourced, and seasonal, with small bites and large plates made for sharing. A must-try dish is the wood-fired T-Bone Angus Steak, with a selection of deliciously charred vegetables and a perfectly creamy ‘miso potato gratin’.

If you’re looking for a more intimate setting, upstairs, Mama San Supper Club features a chic, speakeasy-inspired atmosphere that’s perfect if you’re seeking romantic restaurants in Bali.

    Conclusion’

With an evolving food scene, the island is filled with dining destinations that will set even the most seasoned foodie’s heart pounding. But why do these restaurants make the list? Is it the fresh seafood, cooked to perfection and flavored with a blend of local spices? Or is it the stunning scenery that turns dining into an immersive experience? Well, let’s not waste any more time speculating! Grab your fork and put on your loosest trousers – it’s time to enjoy the best of Bali’s cuisine. Bon Appetit, or as the locals say,  Selamat Makan!
