Who are The New Division?
The New Division is a project of electronic Musician and Producer, John Glenn Kunkel. Being one of the most acclaimed acts in the new wave electro-synth genre, The New Division have managed to release three critically acclaimed albums along with four EPs; with numerous remixes and productions whilst they’re at it. Kunkel, being based in Los Angeles, has found success being featured in high profile publications, which contributed surpassing millions of plays on Spotify.
What can we expect following ‘One Night In Tokyo’?
The New Division’s highly anticipated upcoming Fader EP can only be described as a cinematic explosion of synth-pop and dark electronic soundscapes. The new single, ‘One Night in Tokyo’ profiles a transpacific love affair. Kunkel’s vocals can manage to radiate over atmospheric driving beats with eerie production.
Whilst in upcoming single – Jealous, Kunkel is calling out for intimacy in a relationship which has lost its spark. The melancholy lyrics are seen as a perfect juxtaposition to the bright and electronic beats with heavy guitar rhythms.
This is only the beginning of a new era for The New Division and we’re excited to see what unravels once the Fader EP is released. However, with recent single ‘One Night In Tokyo’, we are hoping it will maintain your appetite for new material – we can’t wait!
