International disc jockey and budding nightlife connoisseur DJ Obi continues to bring the party vibes in a MAJOR way this week, with the release of the visual for his infectious new single ‘Take Me Away’.
Directed by Buch & Amaru, the super summery clip sees Obi team up with his crew for an unforgettable party, that gives viewers a taste of both Lagos’ vibrant nightlife scene, as well as the “unparalleled vibes” that revellers can expect to experience at ‘Obi’s House’ – an incubator, and launchpad for some of the biggest hits coming out of Nigeria and the continent.

Fusing elements of Afro House and Afropop, with “addictive percussions and a palpable, rhythmic bass”, ‘Take Me Away’ (produced by Telz) features guest vocals from the acclaimed Nigerian singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Ayanfe, and Kenya’s biggest Afropop vocalist BIEN (Sauti Soul).
Commenting on the rousing party track, DJ Obi says via a press release: “’Take Me Away’ is the beginning of a journey. A journey to your favourite destination, a journey to the dancefloor, a journey to making a memorable moment happen.”
Born in Minnesota USA and bred in Lagos, Nigeria, DJ Obi started his DJ career in 2005 and has since made a name for himself as one of the most sought-after, and versatile disc jockey’s around the world.
Mastering genres from House and EDM, to R&B, Hip-Hop, Afrobeats and Amapiano, in 2016 Obi broke the Guinness World Record for the longest DJ set, by playing for 240 hours over a 10-day period!
As an international DJ, the rising star has worked with some of the worlds biggest brands, and performed at some of the entertainment industries most prestigious events – most notably, the 2022 Met Gala after-party, and last years YouTube pre-GRAMMY event.
This summer he has taken ‘Obi’s House’ – a weekly roadblock party that regularly attracts over 2,000 partygoers each Monday night – out on tour, giving intercontinental party goers a unique taste of Lagos. Upcoming dates on the stars world-wide jaunt include London on August 25th at E1, and New York on September 2nd at The DL Rooftop.
