His fans finally received news on upcoming music from Childish Gambino. Now, Donald Glover is rolling out more surprises.
Glover recently teased his upcoming album as Gambino, Awaken, My Love!, taking to Twitter last night [November 9th] to show the cover artwork. This comes after rumors of the album came about earlier this week when an FYE store’s release schedule surfaced, with the album showing a December 2nd release.
This is Glover’s first album since the release of 2013’s Because the Internet and his 2014 EP, Kauai.
Earlier today, Glover surprised fans once more. The song, “Me and Your Mama,” gives a taste into what to expect from the new album. The song premiered on Zane Lowe’s Beats 1 radio show just a little bit ago, and it’s safe to say that there’s excitement for the new music.

In addition, Glover sent out a tweet that will link people to multiple website options. You can pre-order the album on the official Awaken, My Love! website, as well pre-order the album on iTunes. The links also confirm the December 2nd release date.
Prior to the album, Glover performed a string of shows in Joshua Tree, Calif. to fans back in September so he could give fans “a full album experience.”
He also just finished the first season of his FX show, Atlanta, with the show renewing for a second season. If you watched the first season, you could see that Glover actually teased the album cover in episode “Juneteenth.”

Recently, Donald Glover was cast as a young Lando Calrissian in an upcoming 2018 Star Wars Han Solo spin-off film.
