Drake has made his way to the top of the UK Singles Chart for the third time, with his new release ‘God’s Plan’.
Supported by a total of 6.5 million streams, the track knocks Eminem and Ed Sheeran’s ‘River’ from the top spot. ‘God’s Plan’ was released late last Friday after Drake dropped his Scary Hours EP. The EP’s other track, ‘Diplomatic Immunity’, entered at number 21 this week, marking Drake’s 32nd UK top 40 hit.
Drake now has three UK number one singles to his name. ‘God’s Plan’ follows in the footsteps of his 2010 Rihanna collab, ‘What’s My Name’, and the gargantuan 2016 hit ‘One Dance’, which sat at the top for 15 weeks.
Elsewhere on the chart, London rapper Ramz claims this week’s number two spot with ‘Barking’, whilst Eminem and Ed’s ‘River’ has to settle at number three. Dua Lipa’s ‘IDGAF’ makes a top five breakthrough at number four, whilst Jason Derulo’s ‘Tip Toe’ sits at number five.
Bruno Mars and Cardi B are bringing their ‘Finesse’ to the number six spot, whilst Ed Sheeran makes his second top ten appearance at number seven with ‘Perfect’. ‘This Is Me’ from The Greatest Showman Soundtrack makes its top ten debut at number eight this week. The album as a whole is currently sitting pretty at the top of the UK Albums Chart for the third consecutive week.
Jax Jones and Ina Wroldsen’s hot collaboration ‘Breathe’ is at number nine, whilst Craig David and Bastille round off the top 10 with ‘I Know You’. The track is taken from Craig’s new album, The Time Is Now, which dropped today.
