After 4 years of marriage, actress Drew Barrymore and Will Kopelman have decided to formally end their relationship as she reportedly filed for an “uncontested” divorce on Friday, 15th July. Their divorce comes after the couple announced their separation three months ago in April.
In February 2011, after several years of friendship and dating in 2008, Barrymore and Kopelman started seeing each other romantically again. They married in a romantic ceremony at her Montecito, California, home in June 2012. They share two children aged 3 and 2.
In a joint statement to People magazine, Drew and Will highlighted the love they share for daughters, Olive and Frankie and the family unit they want to maintain for their children.
“Sadly our family is separating legally, although we do not feel this takes away from us being a family.
Divorce might make one feel like a failure, but eventually you start to find grace in the idea that life goes on.
Our children are our universe, and we look forward to living the rest of our lives with them as the first priority.”
The Blended actress was previously married to LA bar owner, Jeremy Thomas for 2 months in 1994 and her Charlie’s Angels co-star,Tom Green, for 5 months in 2001.
In an interview with Good Housekeeping, Barrymore stated:
“There’s a warrior aspect to being happy, you’ve got to fight for it.”
We hope Drew and Will both go on to find new loving and lasting relationships in the future. Tweet us your opinion @CelebMix on Twitter.
