Electrifying, enigmatic producer DVRKO recently released a brand-new single/music video, “Don’t Save Me,” featuring the plush vocals of Tyler Graves.
Talking about “Don’t Save Me,” Tyler Graves shares, “The song is about a fading relationship that has turned toxic. losing yourself and your own self-worth fighting for a relationship. being with someone but still feeling lonely when they’re right by your side. hoping that you’ll wake up the next day things will go back to how they were in the beginning. you want to save the relationship but realize you don’t actually want to be saved, deep down you want to be free and move on and find yourself again.”
DVRKO adds, “This one is for those who don’t deserve to be saved from the massacre.”
“Don’t Save Me” follows on the heels of the masked sonic architect’s remix of DJ Xplicit’s “Black and Blue” and his collaboration with BIJOU on “Sushi.”
With his distinctive bass-heavy mass thrumming as if from the bowels of hell, along with a propelling dance rhythm, “Don’t Save Me” allows Tyler to strut her deliciously potent voice atop the dazzling, high-pressure harmonics.
Enveloped in an aura of mystery, there is little gen available on DVRKO. Still, the sheer tour de force dynamics of his music says it all, allying his gift for production with layered leitmotifs into brawny sonic bangers brimming with surging momentum.
“Don’t Save Me” opens on low-slung glossy colors accented by shimmering dark tinctures. As the rhythm takes hold, the bassline explodes into swelling textures of shadowy driving energy. Tyler’s delectable, creamy timbres infuse the lyrics with lustrous hues, giving the tune tantalizing wisps of nuanced surfaces.
“So I close my eyes and try to fall asleep, but every time at night you feel so outta reach, when you’re / By my side By my side, Try to, feel you but you’re not there, Feel you but you’re not there / Livin in this nightmare / Don’t save me / Don’t save me.”
With “Don’t Save Me,” DVRKO parades his finessed, magical touch for potent dance music, all crowned by the deluxe voice of Tyler Graves.
