Friday the 5th of January 2017. A day that has gone down in pop music history. The day Ed Sheeran came back from his year out of the spotlight and released two of the most beautiful tracks ever.
Fast forward 18 days and the world was greeted with this.
Ed Sheeran’s music video for “Castle On The Hill”
Again Ed has left us speechless with the genius music video. It accompanies the song beautifully. It shows Ed walking and driving around reminiscing about his teenage years. We get tasteful flashbacks of Ed and his friends. The scenes include underage smoking and underage drinking. Both things we do not endorse here at CelebMix.
Directed by Tom Odell’s go-to director George Belfield. The video itself was filmed in Ed’s own hometome of Framlingham, as “Castle On The Hill” is Ed’s lovesong about where he grew up.
The video ends beautifully, as Ed is sat by the castle on the hill with his friends who are all now adults, drinking at a legal age, and laughing.
We did happen to notice Ed’s scarring on his face from Princess Beatrice accidentally catching him with a sword whilst trying to knight James Blunt last year. Poor Ed.
This year is promised to be the year of the Sheeran. Ed has his upcoming album “÷” on 3rd of March. You can pre-order here. “Shape of You” is the other lead single that was released at the same time as “Castle On The Hill”. The album is already starting to sound magical.
“Castle On The Hill” and “Shape Of You” are both available to download and stream now.
We really cannot wait to hear the rest of the album! But until then, we will be hitting the replay button on this video.
