Ever since it’s been announced as Sheeran’s newest single, fans have been anticipating the video for “Perfect”. And now, after two months, it’s finally here!
Spoiler alert: it’s the most perfect video of 2017.
Alongside Ed Sheeran, you can see the lovely Zoey Deutch, known for her portrayal of Samantha Kingston in the movie adaptation of “Before I Fall”, and her role in “The Suite Life On Deck” as Maya.
The video is everything you expected it to be and so much more, thanks to its director Jason Koenig. In case you forgot, Jason also directed Sheeran’s videos for “Shape Of You” and “Galaway Girl”. So it should come as no surprise that this music video is as beautiful as it is.
In the story, the duo (along with a few friends) heads for the mountains for a skiing trip, and they end up having the time of their life. Filled with love, silliness, romance, humour, cats, and pizza, we’re guaranteeing you it’ll be one of the best music videos you’ve seen this year. And the next one.
The song means a lot to Ed himself, because it was inspired by his relationship with his current girlfriend Cherry Seaborn. He also had high hopes for the song, and he wrote it with the intention of creating a masterpiece. Ed Sheeran didn’t certainly delivered on that promise.
