Elle Exxe, the dirty pop diva, released her new tongue-in-cheek, drag-queen starring music video for her latest single, “Lately” which is the lead single to be taken from Elle’s debut album Love Fuelled Hate, released September 9th.
The video premiered with Gay Times and sees Elle, who’s not one to conform to the overtly sexualised stereotype of your average pop star, get lessons in how to work the camera by her very own, magnificently bearded, drag queen impersonator.
The music video itself is both refreshing and entertaining. It perfectly shows the comparison between what is expected of Elle Exxe to do as a pop artist and what she does instead. It’s also very inspiring because both the song and the music video promotes self-confidence and the love and acceptance for one’s own body.
Aside from that, it seems like Elle is also relaying the message that we should stay true to ourselves even though society tells us to hide behind masks. The message is relayed in a fun way due to the bright neon colours featured in the music video. It is truly a beautiful sight to see.
Elle Exxe still continues to make waves in the music industry.
Last month, Elle played a fantastic jam-packed show on the XFM Stage at Great Escape Festival, and last week (May 29th) she played Liverpool Sound City at The Cavern.
Elle Exxe will be playing a live ‘Exxtravaganzza’ at The Old Queens Head, London on July 6th in celebration of the release of ‘Lately’. The headline show is an invitation into the fabulously exuberant mind of the starlet, and will also see the return of the Pussy La Rae on the decks, who first made an appearance when Elle headlined KOKO as part of Club NME last year.
