Albeit the subject matter of her newest single, 2021 is looking pretty solid for Elle Winter. Following on from the release of her debut EP, in March 2020 featured on CelebMix as a track-by-track breakdown, Elle has returned with her first single of 2021 titled “Sad Girl Heaven“.
To coincide with the release of the single, the New York City native worked in collaboration with fellow artist Bobby Hanaford on the visual aspect of her single, which finds Elle unsuccessful in her pursuit of a man her equal.
From its dramatic production to its hyperbolic lyrics, ‘Sad Girl Heaven’ is a witty take on Elle’s tendency to pursue toxic relationships and people who are not good for her for the thrill of the experience, which inevitably leads to disappointment and self-inflicted heartbreak.
“Jungleboi [co-writer and producer] really captured my vision for my next musical chapter and he brought that vision to life in ‘Sad Girl Heaven.’,” Elle explains on the creative process of her new single.
Elle recently took to her Instagram to give fans a sneak peak and behind-the-scenes look at the experience of the music video, which you can watch below:
