What made you want to become an actress?
Acting came to me quite early in life… I loved being in front of people and getting reactions out of people. I realized that the stage was where I was happiest, so I did every single play, musical, Broadway review, dance recital and chorus recital that my school had to offer from kindergarten until I graduated high school. The love you share between the cast, the feelings you get when you explore life through another person’s eyes and the effect of changing people’s emotions through performance are the main reasons why I fell in love with it.
What are some of the things you love to do besides act?
I have ridden horses my entire life – specifically jumping! That’s one of my largest passions and something I think that I will continue for the rest of my life. It brings me so much joy and peace. I also fell in love with cooking and recipe developing. When I have time, I can spend hours in the kitchen creating different recipes and dishes. I absolutely love it! It makes visiting me very desirable to my friends!
Tell us about your role of Gabi in “American Vandal” and the show in general. What was it like on set?
Gabi was a really fun character to play. She’s just a really kind-hearted, funny, loyal girl. “American Vandal” seems like a show that’s focused on a seemingly ridiculous crime, but the nuances and details in everyone’s story makes you almost obsessed with trying to figure out who actually did the vandalism. It’s so naturally enticing, and I think that’s why it’s been received so well. It was so much fun to film. The cast was full of the most funny, talented, outgoing people, so it was always a great time on set. The creative team was really specific about what they wanted from us but also gave us a lot of freedom with our character choices, which is where a lot of the best moments come from.

You’ll be appearing in Heathers, what can you tell us about it? Were you a fan of the original film?
Yes! I’m so excited to see this take on such a classic film. They definitely took some creative liberties with the characters and story line and made it very relatable to this generation and current society so I think it’s going to really draw the millennials in. I also think the generation who grew up with the film will be interested to see what they did with the characters and story out of pure curiosity. I don’t think they will be disappointed. I saw the film pretty recently actually and thought it was genius.
What has been your favorite role to date?
My favorite role to play actually hasn’t come to screen yet. I had the absolute pleasure of working on seasons two and three of “Mr. Student Body President” on go90 as a new character they introduced named Debra— she’s the power-hungry, queen-bee, witty, daring, head girl in charge at Berenger High School. She’s the most fun character I’ve ever played because there were literally no boundaries in her actions or words. Although she was on the semi-psycho, manipulative side, she was still loved by so many people and had the student body wrapped around her finger. I can’t wait for everyone to meet her!!
What would you love for your fans to know about you?
The main thing I want my fans to know is that I really appreciate them for supporting me as my career transitions and grows. I started on “Power Rangers” as Pink Ranger and have some of the same fans that have grown and transformed with me. I also really appreciate the newer ones that have been extremely supportive, from all over the world. They have given me so much encouragement every single day. They all make the grueling parts of my job worth it at the end of the day.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
In five years, I’ll be deep in the movie game! I’ve always been a sucker for Rom-Coms and Dramas, so I’m really excited to get more involved with those kinds films. I also see myself with a lot of rescued animals and using my free time volunteering or performing research on ways to mitigate biodiversity loss. Environmental conservation is a huge passion of mine, and I want to contribute as much as I can to help heal the damage humans are doing to the world.
What can you tell us about anything upcoming?
I’m so excited that I can finally announce that I’m leading a new series called Versus as a star lacrosse player who’s torn between pursuing a collegiate career as one of the best in her state and living a normal teenage life. It’s a sports-centered drama and has a lot of heart and depth. This is probably one of the most relatable stories I’ve been a part of, and I think it’ll fit that Friday Night Lights/ One Tree Hill genre that my generation became so personally involved with growing up. It really focuses on showing female athletes in a very raw, real and non- stereotypical way— Gatorade is partially producing it after they found in their research that girls are dropping out of sports at an alarming rate. Hopefully this show will help reverse that trend. We’re in the middle of filming now, but look out for it on Verizon’s go90 in November!
