If you have yet to hear about Casey Baer, you may be missing out on your new favorite indie-pop singer-songwriter. Between her powerful range and relatable lyrics, Baer is definitely an artist that many can connect with on a personal level while still being completely impressed by her vocals. She is currently best known for her popular cover videos that have attracted thousands of people. Baer is now working on her debut music EP and is completely ready to take on the rest of 2019. In an exclusive interview with CelebMix, she opened up about her music, the new EP and more.
How did you first get started with music?
I’ve been singing for as long as I can remember. I got my first taste of the music world at 6 years old in a production of High School Musical. I played “Mini Sharpay,” a role they wrote just for me.
What can you tell us about your new EP that you are currently recording?
I just released my first single, ‘Greatest Mistake,’ and I will be releasing a few more singles this year.
What inspires the music that you write?
The songs I write are about my life [and the] things I am going through at the time I write them.

Does this EP have an overall theme?
The overall theme of my music is “teenage life.” My greatest hope is that people find a connection to my music that helps them get through whatever it is they are dealing with at the time, like the way I did.
What would you say has been a highlight of your career thus far?
The highlight of my career so far has been releasing my first single ‘Greatest Mistake.’ I have dreamed about this day my whole life!
Do you have any dream collaborations?
My dream collaborations are to work with Justin Bieber, Billie Eilish, Rihanna and Olivia O’Brien. I feel a very strong connection to the music they all make and they have been incredible inspirations to me.

What are your goals for the rest of 2019?
My goals for the rest of 2019 are to continue writing and producing my music, performing live shows and hoping my music can make a positive impact on people’s lives.
When you’re not making music, what else do you like to do on your free time?
When I’m not making music, I love hanging out with my friends and family, going to the beach, and playing with my dog Luca.
What is one fun or unknown fact that you want your fans to know about you?
I’ve been homeschooled since the 9th grade.
