This week saw ManyFew release their brand new single “Where To Go“. The song features vocals from Twiggy and has already racked up nearly 20,000 plays. We’re obsessed with track and completely adore it. That’s why we were so excited to be able to interview this Swedish production duo.
The song is ManyFew’s official third single following their debut which was a collaboration with Otto Orlandi titled “Don’t Miss You”, which featured Melanie Fontana; and, their second single “Feel Good”, which also featured Twiggy.
During our interview with ManyFew, who consist of brothers Jacob and Victor Andersson, we talked about their single “Where To Go“, what it was like working with Twiggy, their radio show titled “Electronic Heaven”, and what their plans for 2018 are.
Hi ManyFew, we hope you are doing well today. What have you been up to lately?
Hi Celebmix, we are well thank you! We have been in the studio producing new music and made the finishing touches to our next single. Also, we just recorded the next episode of our radio show… So, lots of things are going on.
Your new single is called “Where To Go”, can you tell us more about the song?
Yeah, the song is a pop/dance record with some uplifting feelings. We had an idea about making a piano driven track with a disco feeling in the chorus. Twiggy sent us a vocal idea, which we really loved! We made a couple of different versions of it but we felt that something was missing… So, we continued to work until we finally reached what we were looking for.
What was it like working with Twiggy on the song? You worked with her previously on “Feel Good”, can we expect more collaborations between you two in the future?
It was a pleasure working with Twiggy. She’s really professional. She’s also a good friend of ours and that makes the collaboration so fun to do. Yes, you can definitely expect more collaborations between Twiggy and us in the future. We really enjoy working with her and we already have some tracks we are working on.
Using five words, how would you describe the track?
Uplifting, energy, piano, dance, pop!
How does the track differ from the songs you have previously released?
That’s a good question. Compared to previous releases we’d say that this record has a more of a mainstream vocal touch to it and that infuses a dose of pop into the house track. This time we have tried to produce a record that could work for both the dance floor and radio stations.
Where did the inspiration for “Where To Go” come from?
We had an idea about making a piano driven track with a disco feeling in the chorus. We listen to a wide range of musical genres; for example, we like to listen to a mix of 90s house, funk to urban, and today’s pop music so think we got a lot of inspiration from there. It wasn’t one particular track that inspired us to make “Where To Go”, but we got a bit inspiration from everywhere.
What inspires you as a DJ duo?
As a DJ duo, we take inspiration not only from music, sometimes we take inspiration from art, sports, nature and from a bit of everything, we think. We love to work as a team and to push each other, which gives us new inspiration as well. For us, DJing is a big part of being a producer, we think. We started to DJ and later on, we got into music production.
Can we expect another lyric video for this song? Any plans for an official music video? Can you reveal any details?
We have some cool things coming up and it’s definitely possible that a lyric video will be out after the release. Also, we are discussing about doing an official music video.
Your debut single, “Don’t Miss You”, has over 2.5 million streams on Spotify, what’s it like knowing your music has reached so many listeners?
We are pleased to have been able to have reached so many listeners and we really appreciate the support! The song also rocketed to top 5 on iTunes in Italy so that was also an incredible feeling.
What do you hope to achieve with your music?
For us, music is a journey. We will continue to work hard and to gain new knowledge. We’d like to release as many songs as possible and spread our music around the world. We hope to achieve festival gigs and to let ManyFew grow organically. Also, we hope to get the opportunity to produce music for some big pop artists and movies as well.
If you could collaborate with anyone, who would you choose, and why?
One of our favourite vocalists of all time is Luther Vandross, sadly he passed away many years ago so we didn’t have the opportunity… Another singer we’d love to collaborate with is Alicia Keys. Love her powerful voice and her piano songs. A couple of years ago we went to one of her concerts in Madison Square Garden (NYC) and it was absolutely incredible. Another dream collaboration would be to do a song together with Stargate. We really like their productions and they’ve produced hits for a huge number of great artists.
You have also released your own radio show, titled “Electronic Heaven”. Where did this idea come from? Two episodes have been released so far, what can we expect from these radio shows? Do you plan to release more radio episodes?
Yes, that’s right! On ‘Electronic Heaven’ we play some of our favourite tracks at the moment. Also, we play unreleased songs and our own edits and mashups. We have always been listening, a lot, to radio shows so, for us, it felt natural to create our own show. This year we are planning to release one episode every month and it will also be played in some radio stations. The first episode of this year will be broadcasted on EMPO TV in Mexico.
2018 has literally just started, what can we expect from you this year?
We have a lot of exciting stuff coming up in 2018. We’re working on new music and have several releases coming up this year with some really talented singers. So, we’re really excited for what’s to come next.
Finally, is there anything you want to say to your fans?
We’d like to say ‘Thank You’ for all the support we have received so far. It means a lot to us! That gives us the inspiration to produce new songs. For new music and latest updates be sure to follow us on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, and Soundcloud.
Thank you ManyFew for this awesome interview. We look forward to your future releases while we listen to “Where To Go” on repeat.
Make sure you listen to their brand new single and their previous releases. We urge you to download and stream the songs because ManyFew are certainly a duo to watch.
