A few months ago, we introduced you to six-piece band JAGMAC, who supported Little Mix on their Get Weird tour. We also got the chance to interview them about the tour experience as well as getting to know the members a bit better.

Since then, the group have released a brand new single called ‘Soldiers‘ and have been touring the UK again on the Breaking Acts tour. We recently caught up with JAGMAC once again to talk about their new track, tour life and their debut album.

Hey guys! The last time we caught up with you, you’d just finished supporting Little Mix on their Get Weird tour.  How are you, and what have you been up to since the tour?

The “Get Weird” tour was absolutely amazing and one of the best experiences of our lives! We’ve all been excellent, and have released a new single since then called “Soldiers”.

Your new single ‘Soldiers’ is a favourite of ours! It carries an inspiring message – was this an important factor for you when choosing which song to release?

We’re so happy you like the song!  We like to have a positive message in all of our songs, so yes.  When we were creating the concept of “Soldiers” in the studio with the other writers, we wanted to show how we all have personal struggles and battles that we go through each and everyday. We all need to be able to overcome these thing in life. And in our way, we are ‘Soldiers’.

You’ve released quite a few remixes of the song. What made you decide to have so many and do you have a particular favourite?

Originally we wanted to have a few really cool dance remixes for the song, so we sent it out to several different producers. When we heard what they had created, it turned out we loved all of them!!! So it’s hard to say that we have just one favorite.

Will you be releasing a music video for ‘Soldiers’? If so, what can we expect from it?

Yes, we will be definitely releasing a music video for “Soldiers”! We don’t have an exact release date yet but we’ve already been discussing different themes with directors for the video now. Rest assured, it will be ready very soon!

You’re currently back in the UK (welcome back!) for the Breaking Acts Tour in Butlins, supporting Sam Bailey and Union J. How’s the tour going so far?

It’s great to be back here in the UK! We missed it…especially the fish n chips! The UK has definitely become our second home. Sam Bailey and Union J have been great! Sam is one of the sweetest, most down to earth ladies you’ll ever meet and she has a powerhouse voice! Union J are really awesome guys too!

Such a pleasure sharing the stage with the very talented @SamBaileyREAL X Factor winner!! ??? #butlins #xfactor pic.twitter.com/kqa4KquaO0

You’ll also be doing outdoor shows this summer including Total Access Live. Do you find there’s a different atmosphere when you play outdoor shows?

We cannot wait for Total Access Live! We have played at some other amazing outdoor festivals during our time back here in the UK as well, and they’ve all been incredible! There’s definitely a very energetic atmosphere when you perform at an outdoor show. People are outside enjoying the warm weather and they love hearing good fun music. Its just an awesome vibe! The crowds are phenomenal!

You’ll be heading back to the States this month for Summer Sessions in Atlantic City. Past performers include Rita Ora, Timbaland and Lady Gaga…does this add to the pressure of your performance?

Summer Sessions in Atlantic City is going to be an event to remember forever! We’re so excited and ready for this amazing opportunity. As you said, some of the biggest names in the music industry have performed there. So yes, it may add a little bit of pressure… but at the end of the day, we give 110 percent every time we perform no matter who’s there or how many people are present. So we’re just going to give it our all, leave our hearts on the stage, and perform the best that we can! Hopefully, it’ll all go well!!!

Over the past 12 months, you’ve been busy in the studio with some superstar writers. What words of advice did they give you?

We’ve been blessed to work with some of the best writers out there. Literally, you can hear the songs they’ve written if you just turn on Radio 1. They have given us so many tips and techniques along the way. One thing that they’ve all shared with us though is to be true to yourself. Every writer has a unique style. So if we can be creative and clever in how we phrase certain words or concepts, it will really help us. And it’ll help listeners to know our sound and who we are as JAGMAC.

Last but not least…we’re patiently awaiting your debut album! Is there any update on when you’ll be releasing it?

The album is still in the works. We have a lot of material, so now it’s a matter of seeing what will make it into the final product. We don’t know exactly when the album will be released yet…but we’re guessing it’ll be pretty soon! The songs have been coming along really well and we’re happy with how everything is sounding so far, but we want it to be perfect for our fans and all the listeners out there.  Hopefully everyone will enjoy listening to it as much as we enjoyed recording it!

Thank you to JAGMAC for their time! ‘Soldiers’ is available to download now.
