This definitely isn’t the first song Kimié has written. She’s been writing original songs since teaching herself how to play the guitar at 14 years old. In 2013, she released an EP, To The Sea and in 2015, she released a self-titled album.
Singing about the strength and support in a healthy relationship, “Bamboo” is a light, uplifting song that definitely has listeners feeling the warmth. Her vocals perfectly compliment the acoustic instrumental, creating some seriously chill vibes and the feeling of paradise.
I first witnessed the strength of Bamboo while living abroad in Hong Kong. I saw firsthand how they used it as scaffolding for new, tall buildings. This song compares the love of two people to that kind of endurance and flexible staying power; the kind of love that let’s two people grow side by side without stifling each other
