Lavender Fields is a producer, singer/songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist, based out of Los Angeles, CA. Her new EP, Gravitude, premieres tomorrow, December 7.
This EP is a dreamy, flowing collection she wrote recently about some turbulent times in her life. The inspiration behind it is to love everything and to have the capacity to forgive. It features three songs, including the title track, “Radugi,” and “Presence Dub,” feat. Jumble Dubs.
She tracks electric guitar on this collection, which is a new instrument for her.
CelebMix got to talk to Lavender Fields about Gravitude and more.
With you just releasing an album this past June, what inspired you to release an EP so soon after?
Just constantly making music. I actually have written even another body of new work! I’m addicted to creating.
How did you come up with the name ‘Gravitude?’
The story behind the title is Gratitude for life on this earthly plane of Gravity.
How would you describe your sound?
Heart opening music, an uplifting dance-oriented fusion of world music and electronica. Also mad experimental.
How does your “Light up the World Project” and your love for the environment influence the music you make and the messages you send to your fans?
It influences it directly! I sing about what I’m passionate about in life: nature, love, animals, compassion, cherishing life on our beautiful planet.
Are you planning to tour after the EP is released?
I will be performing around LA this winter. But right after the release of the EP, I will be in the studio in Colorado composing a new album called “Medicine Songs” which will include a fusion of acoustic and electronic sound with orchestral arrangements.
Who are your musical inspirations and how do they help/encourage you to make the kind of music you do?
I’m very inspired by this world. I look at the world and the music of its perfection even in the midst of chaos just overflows my heart. I’m inspired by people because each person is so beautifully unique and you want to tell a sonic story to describe that! Those are my biggest inspirations.
Is there anything you would like to tell your listeners?
Love each other.
Thank you to Lavender Fields for this interview and we look forward to what else you create.
