Sean Smith’s new single and music video is here and we’re honoured to be premiering it here on CelebMix. Titled “Do Or Die”, it marks his first release of 2019 and is his fourth single release overall. A debut album is expected to be dropped later this year – which we cannot wait for.
Sean Smith made a name for himself when he competed on the fourth series of The X Factor as part of the brother-sister duo, Same Difference. They went on the achieve moderate success, selling over 300,000 records. They released two albums, Pop and The Rest Is History; a third had been recorded, with the title Superheroes, but it was never released. Since the group disbanded, Sean Smith has gone solo. He previously released singles “Turn Me On“, “Magic”, and “Fire“, with the latter track becoming his most streamed Spotify song to date, at almost 200,000 streams. He has also collaborated on Peter Wilson’s single “Verona” which is a cover of the Koit Toome & Laura track of the same name that represented Estonia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2017; as well as this, late last year, he featured on Ben Davidson’s album track titled “Dirty Mirrors”. This year will see him release his debut album and it’s bound to be amazing if all his releases to date are anything to go by.
This new song has been written and produced by Nalle Ahlstedt; as for the music video, that has been directed by Ash Stanley. It has dark depths whilst focusing on its narrative storyline. It’s our favourite Sean Smith music video so far, for sure.

As the years have gone on, Sean Smith has continued to prove that he has great vocals, and yet, this new track emphasises them even more. The up-tempo number really allows him to showcase his singing ability, effortlessly connecting to the song and portraying it through his voice, out to the listeners. It’s one of those songs that will stay in your head for all the right reasons.
As for the music video, we have a lot going on; we have a narrative segment, a performance segment, and flashback segments, all wrapped around the narrative. It’s complex and intense, giving off a movie-like quality. It relates to the song effortlessly as it displays Sean Smith’s on-screen relationship as they go through a difficult time where it looks like they may brake up. She then gets kidnapped, and Sean Smith does everything he can to save her. It’s sweet, passionate, and full of emotion all the way through. The flashbacks add additional emphasis to the storyline, whilst the performance piece is set within the narrative which is engaging and powerful; plus, Sean Smith is looking smoking in a tight-fitted white vest and plain blue jeans.
Sean Smith said of his new music: “My sound and style is evolving all the time and I’m proud of that. I know my loyal fans will join me on the journey, but I hope I can win some new fans on the way too.”
Upon the release of his debut LP, he said: “I can’t wait for everyone to hear the new album and hear me as a solo artist, it’s something I’m extremely proud of and I hope everyone will enjoy and like the direction I’m taking.”
