Valencia James has just released the new music video for her courageous single ’Flames’.
The brand new visuals mimic the narrative of the song and show explosive flames engulfing the singer. James bravely looks directly into the eyes of the audience and expresses her story whilst remaining stoic. This highlights the singer’s message of taking responsibility for the words and actions. It assures that the darkest hour is just before the dawn. Heartbreak and difficult times will pass.
The single entitled ‘Flames’ was written after James’ family home was burnt down in the infamous Waldo Canyon fire in Colorado. Losing photos and videos of her childhood memories, the traumatic experience sparked her inspiration.
“The song also represents how easily a relationship can be destroyed through words and action. Anyone that has ever had relationship difficulties or been hurt because of words or actions can probably relate to this song” – reveals Valencia James.
The courageous anthem blends playful instrumentation, powerful lyrics as well as soaring raw vocals.
‘Flames’ has garnered acclaim from the likes of Idobi Radio, Earmilk and Alt Press.
