Felicite Tomlinson may have been ‘discovered’ by her older brother Louis Tomlinson from One Direction, but the young beauty has a voice all her own. She’s been speaking up on Twitter and Instagram to show support for equality, to encourage self-acceptance and love, and to speak out about issues that affect young adults all over the world. On top of that, Felicite has already mentioned on her new website about how privileged she feels to have the platform that she does, and how she plans to use it to help improve the lives of others.
The Tomlinson-Deakin family seriously have hearts made completely of gold.
Felicite took to Instagram in March and let fans know she had a new project in the works and to leave their E-mail addresses to be kept in the know! We signed up for it immediately and so did many of you – everyone was looking forward to seeing what she would do.
While her post today was a Q&A that was both fun and insightful, her previous post titled ‘A little extra information…’ really explained more of what she hopes to be able to do with her website, her platform, and how she’s experienced broken trust but also true friendship from bonds formed online – something MANY of us can relate to.
Her website is still in the works, but you can definitely help spread the word by tweeting the link, engaging with Felicite on her Twitter and Instagram accounts, and by brainstorming what charities she can feature. By encouraging others to check out FeliciteTomlinson.com you’re setting them up to be put in a spot where they can help donate and spread awareness for the charities that will be featured, thus making an impact on the world we all live in.
If there’s one thing young people are more aware of today than ever, it’s the need for kindness, and the easiest way to be kind is to show your support.
In addition to the charities she’ll feature and the products available, her blog will likely house future Q&A sessions, informative blurbs, and showcase what’s on her mind and what she sees on her own social media – which is a lot of what we see too!
She was asked some interesting questions this time around, and we picked a few of them to feature here.
What would you like to say to all of the young girls around the world who are not confident in their skin and hate themselves?
It’s important to remember that everyone is so beautiful in very different ways. I have never met anyone who doesn’t have something beautiful about them and if you can’t see it then I promise you somebody else can. Everyone has insecurities but you are much bigger than them and you shouldn’t let them hold you back.
Do you have anyone you go to for advice? In person or online?
I can always go to my mum for advice because she always has amazing points of view and tries to be fair to everyone, even if its not what i want to hear. But if I just need someone to be there for me then i usually will go to Rishi or an online friend.
Would you ever get plastic surgery?
Yes I would get plastic surgery if I was really unhappy with a part of my body. I think that everyone deserves to be happy with their appearance and if it is negatively affecting them then they have the right to do something about it. However, I do also think it is probably quite easy to become addicted to seeing positive changes and personally I wouldn’t want to go so far that I lose the physical identity that i was born with. If somebody else wants to have a lot of cosmetic surgery though, I think it’s completely fine.
Do you feel like having so much attention on you at such a young age is a positive impact on your life or overwhelming?
I think it is usually positive and allows me to talk to lots of people I wouldn’t know otherwise and have platforms where I can share my thoughts and get a large response. I probably wouldn’t be as socially aware if I didn’t have a large following and lots of people educating me so that’s a blessing. Sometimes when things are very personal it gets overwhelming but because I only get lots of attention online, I can just log out when I’m not enjoying it.
Felicite is wise beyond her years, and she draws strength and support from her incredible family, friends, and boyfriend when she needs it. For a girl so young, she’s got a really good grasp on her life! This alone will be an inspirational thing for other young adults, specifically girls, to see when they check out her website.
Congratulations Felicite, we look forward to seeing the work you do and the insight you give!
