Looks like WWE is bringing in a little more girl power this year! First reported on USA Today and on the WWE website, World Wrestling Entertainment has announced that Fifth Harmony will be performing “America the Beautiful” to kick off the 32nd annual WrestleMania event. The event takes place April 3rd at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas and will showcase live on the WWE Network around the world.
This is a huge deal for the girls and a very big honor for them. The group will be following in the footsteps of artists such as Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin, and John Legend who have also opened this annual event in the past. This performance also gives the girls a chance to showcase their talents to a particular audience and age group who may or may have not really listened to them before.
“We are so excited to be apart of this year’s WrestleMania! It’s such an honor to be chosen to perform at one of WWE’s biggest events. We can’t wait to see everyone in Arlington!” – Fifth Harmony
With the success of the the group’s latest single, “Work From Home” which now peaks at #5 on the iTunes Charts and topped the UK R&B chart, this performance, and the release of their second album, 7/27, set to drop in May, we can expect that the rest of the year is going to be all about Fifth Harmony and we’re completely on board with that!
